It has a name that can’t be spoken and it can’t be found on a map the only we know it is in our sleeping dreaming moments and you wake up with longings so strong we can’t get up and we realize what’s missing and it’s beating down that gravel road we call home and a man on that road in a house had a dream and it flew right out the window and he’s been chasing it ever since and the further he got the less he recognized and he was lost and he was sad and I could only hear his voice singing “where is home?” and that road had a keeper who loved it just as much held time by the tail and never let it go anywhere and that’s how we got by without a goddamn dime and it was will and it was love and it was struggle but it was fine it was home

But the son loved the sparrow and are we more than that? yes we are no and the son loved the sparrow and we are more than that! yes we are! we are more than that!

I can always tell when you are sleeping you make ripples in my mind SPLASH like a pebble I can see you you sink to the bottom of my mind you make my memory fish start swimming with sensitivity to you swimming in curious circles softly kissing you water is polishing you smoothly making you shine light keeps you looking like you’re moving but dead at the same time moments of darkness are like sleeping with elapsed time oh and the light it reveals you I remember and that’s fine I will polish you till you’re gone one of these days my eyes will open and you’ll never have existed like every rock that sits in water you’ll be sanded down with time
